Cranking Test

Cranking Test to Know the State of the Starting System
Cranking voltage ＞10.5V,discharge performance good,no actions needed
Cranking voltage 10V~10.5V,discharge performance not bad ,need recharging
Cranking voltage 9.6V~9.9V,discharge performance bad,need replace
Cranking voltage ＜9.6V,discharge performance very bad,need replace ASAP
1). Entering cranking test and starting the engine as prompted, tester will automatically complete the test;
2). The tester will display the result including actual cranking voltage and actual cranking time;
3). If cranking voltage value is lower than 9.6V, the cranking system is regarded as abnormal;
4). If cranking voltage value is higher than 9.6V, the cranking system is OK.

Charging Test

Charging Test to Know More about Charging Volt
1). Charging Volt: Normal – the generator output is normal, no problem detected;
2). Charging Volt: Low – check the drive belt of the generator and the connection between generator and battery, or follow the manufacturer’s suggestion to eliminate generator fault;
3). Charging Volt: High – replace the generator assembly or a regulator to avoid battery damages;
4). No Volt Output – check the generator connection cable and the belt;
5). Diode Test – there is at least one diode is damaged if ripple volt is too high.

The screen will display instructions for the technician to press vehicle accelerator to increase RPM to 2500r/min and maintain 2500r/min for 5 seconds,please enter to display the test result,and the result you can reference manual.

Warnings:

Do not place the tester near the engine or exhaust pipe to avoid damage from high temperatures
Do not smoke,cause sparks,or strike matches near the battery when testing
Do not remove battery clamps while testing
Do not put the tester into a highly humid or dusty environment
Do not disassemble the tester
