Plug in the key and it will be locked if you haven't install the Cap in the bike. Don't worry, this is not a defective. it's designed so that the key does not fall when the Cap is opened. You only need to press the O-ring at the Cap back then can remove the key normally.

It can be used normally after install it on the bike.
